  • Identify and make use of integral communications systems
  • Establish an effective system of communication considering distances and the working environment
  • Conduct regular communication checks to ensure equipment continues to function
  • Use fall-back procedures should there be a failure in the communications equipment
  • To maintain the sensitivity of information when broadcasting sensitive information using appropriate systems (e.g. about casualties or fatalities)
  • Identify contingency arrangements should communication systems fail
