  • The arrangements, which can be implemented at incidents to minimise the effects of heat stress
  • The equipment, which may be considered for use at a rest and recovery area
  • The ideal rest and recovery procedures
  • The procedure for dealing with illness and/or injury of personnel whilst wearing BA
  • The methods of identifying and recording illness and/or injury of personnel following the wearing of BA

Make appropriate arrangements to ensure the welfare of BA wearers

Demonstrate the ability to:

  • Select and use appropriate means to be identifiable as a BA welfare on the incident ground
  • Perform the responsibilities of the BA welfare officer
  • Use appropriate procedures for minimising the risk of heat stress
  • Use appropriate arrangements, which can be implemented at incidents to minimise the effects of heat stress
  • Select and use appropriate resources and equipment, for a rest and recovery area
