  • The need for a joint strategy for survival guidance to be developed by the fire control room and the on-scene incident commander
  • The need to revise the survival guidance

Joint understanding of risk

Understand:

  • The need to build a joint understanding of risk for the fire control room and the on-scene incident commander
  • The benefits of appointing a single point of contact to co-ordinate survival guidance

Co-ordinate with other services or agencies that are receiving calls

Understand:

  • The need to co-ordinate the survival guidance being given by the fire control rooms and any other control rooms taking calls

Gather information from callers that may influence the survival guidance strategy, and provide updates to the on-scene incident commander

Fire control personnel: Demonstrate the ability to:

  • Gather information from callers that may influence the survival guidance strategy
  • Provide updates of information that may influence the survival guidance strategy to the on-scene incident commander

Develop a joint strategy with the fire control room about the survival guidance to be provided to persons at risk
