Track welding powder is used for repairs to rail tracks. It is classified as a flammable solid, and when ignited produces a highly exothermic reaction, with temperatures in excess of 2500°C. Once heated, track welding powder reacts violently to the application of water.
Track welding powder may be found in use at a rail track worksite, or securely stored in depots.
