Demonstrate the ability to:

  • Notify the appropriate agencies if damage has been, or will be, caused to the environment during firefighting activities at wildfire incidents 
  • Use appropriate equipment and processes at wildfire incidents to minimise the environmental impacts of firefighting activities 
  • Implement appropriate environmental protection measures at wildfire incidents  
  • Use hand tools (fire-beaters) and high pressure fogs to suppress wildfire at sensitive sites 
  • Put in place appropriate measures to prevent the spread of plant or animal pests and diseases at wildfire incidents
